Leading on Health Care
The Affordable Care Act has made health care available for millions of Americans, but in Tennessee our political leaders in the Republican party have been fighting the law from day one and have blocked Medicaid expansion. Because of these Republicans' efforts, hundreds of thousands of Tennesseans are falling into coverage gaps, unable to secure the necessary benefits that come with health insurance. To make things worse, many hospitals in Tennessee have had to cut back, resulting in the loss of both taxpayer jobs and dollars. Haywood County has already lost an emergency room--the direct result of our Republican governor refusing to expand Medicaid in Tennessee. Our fellow Tennesseans are going to suffer because of a failure of leadership. It is time to put these people over politics and help all of our families gain access to quality, affordable health care.

Jennifer will make providing more working families with access to Medicaid and protecting women's health are top priorities. We must continue to change the conversation around Medicaid expansion and work together to create an environment in Tennessee where the voices of those supporting affordable care are greater than the politicians blocking access to health care for hundreds of thousands of Tennesseans.
